Consultant: Mgr. Dana Vlášková Opponent thesis: Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of dehiscent media sternotomy after surgery intervention. The aim of the theoretical part was to describe cardiac surgery in general, selected operations and some famous personalities connected with cardiac surgery. Second chapter is focused on wound healing, stages of wound, what are the complications associated with cardiac surgeries and nutritional support of the patient during wound healing. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with the problematics of vacuum therapy, its principles, different ways of the therapy and material which is needed. It is also focused on the nurse`s skills she needs while providing the therapy. There is also mentioned some of the resent topics which also focused on the topic of vacuum therapy.
